When people and kindness come together, just about anything can happen. Even as a child, Janelle Boston always wanted to climb Mount Tyson in Queensland, Australia. Today, the 55-year-old can’t walk more than a few steps… Janelle was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. But she’s never abandoned her childhood dream! When the Tully Community Cuppa & Chats Facebook group heard about Janelle’s dream, they knew they wanted to do something to help make it come true. They got in touch with the Tully Rugby League to see if they would take a special training run up Mount Tyson! They even recruited a local welder to craft a chair that would allow them to carry Janelle up the mountain. A group of 40 started their climb in October, with each of her newest friends helping to carry her all the way up! Along with Janelle’s husband, her mom Isabell got to witness the touching moment and said she knows it was an incredible accomplishment for everyone there. It’s a great story to share to remind someone how well kindness and teamwork go together.
