One of our favorite things about Sonrise is hearing from people who’ve been touched by something they heard on the show. Whether it’s a song that made an impact on your life, or a story that someone shared, it’s great to know that it’s helped in some way, so if there is something that has touched you in a special way, we’d love to hear about it. Everybody has a story, and we’d love to hear yours.

In 2010, when she was only 2-and-a-half years old, Khloe Braunstein lost her Marine veteran father in a battle to PTSD.  Six years later, Khloe and her mom met Steve Exceen at an event honoring fallen soldiers.  Keeping up with each other on Facebook, Steve found out that Khloe was made fun of because she didn’t have a father to take her to her father-daughter dance.  After clearing it with her mom, Steve decided to step up and be a stand in!  He and his daughter showed up with a corsage and a poster, and the three of them went to the dance! See the video story.  Steve said “I was just trying to make her smile, and now it’s gone, as they say, viral, and I’m hoping that other men will step up, and do the same thing for somebody.”
