Whether it’s a song that made an impact on your life, or a story that someone shared, it’s great to know that it’s helped in some way, so if there is something that has touched you in a special way, we’d love to hear about it. Everybody has a story, and we’d love to hear yours.

walkingleadstodrivingWalter Carr is a young Birmingham college student whose car broke down the night before he was supposed to start a new job with Bellhops Movers 20 miles away. So, he started walking… all night! He got to Pelham, AL at 4 am, when a concerned police officer stopped to make sure he was okay. Walter explained the situation to him, so the cop took him to get some food, and then on to his destination. Jenny Lamey is the moving homeowner, and when she heard of Walter’s walk, she invited him to nap before the others got there, but he declined and wanted to get started. Jenny started a GoFundMe with a goal of $2,000 to help him with his car troubles, but ended up with $90,000. Plus, to show his appreciation, Bellhops chief executive Luke Marklin gave Walter his car! Walter gave $25,000 to Birmingham Education Foundation… then the school’s Executive Director J.W. Carpenter, started the Walter Carr Award to give other kids new opportunities. Check out Walter’s time on the Steve Harvey show.
