Sometimes we find that it’s okay to bend the rules at work to help someone in need. That happened to Sarah, who works in the customer service 24/7 chat portal for a pasta company. Late one night, she got a text from someone who seemed to be reaching out for more than help with pasta. Sarah knew the person texting her needed encouragement but reminded the person that the hotline is only to be used for the company’s products. That’s when things got creative and they were able to bend the rules, turning life into a lasagna cooking lesson! Sarah could have easily ended the conversation, but she knew, sometimes a person who is suffering from depression just needs to be heard. See the helpful… and creative… conversation. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is also available 24/7.
