scheroMalachi Coffey is a 9-year-old South Carolina boy who became an honorary sheriffs employee! Last month Malachi was playing in his aunt’s yard when he heard a man calling for help. He ran towards the screams and found 65-year-old Allen Clemmons pinned underneath his car. Allen was working on his transmission when the jack slipped and trapped him. He was there for over an hour before Malachi came to help. He got the jack back under the car, lifted it and then ran to call 911. Help came, and Allen was airlifted to the hospital with a fractured pelvis and a few broken ribs. Shortly after that, Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis named Malachi as the sheriff’s office honorary employee of the month and an honorary deputy. It’s a great story of a random act hero and you can see it now. Malachi asked his mom if he had to go to school on “his day”… and yes he did!
