You won’t find many people in this world who are more honest than a child. Rayn Boncie knows that honesty better than a lot of folks. She’s the founder of the non-profit organization called Things of My Very Own Inc., and it helps bridge the gap between what social services can provide to children in the foster care system, and the items that they actually need. During the holiday season, they had every child write their wish list on a tag, which members of the community would collect, and then buy gifts to fulfill each kid’s wish. The wishes the kids wrote were touching and sometimes, heartbreaking. Some included “A Dad,” “new clothes so I won’t get picked on”, “School snacks so I’m not the only one not eating during snack time”, even one from a teen boy who said asked for feminine hygiene products for his younger sister, so she wouldn’t have to keep missing school. We stand behind anyone who helps kids and we hope you’ll check out and support Things of My Very Own Inc. You can find them on Facebook and their website. And it’s not just a holiday thing either. You can help these kids any time of the year.
