civilhelperAsk any child what they want to use the money for that’s in their piggy bank, and you’ll probably get answers like candy, movies or toys. But if you ask 4-year-old Sidney Fahrenbruch in Longmont, CO, and she’ll give you a totally different answer! Sidney made headlines when Officer David Bonday came to her family’s new home after Sidney asked them to check for monsters. After that, Sidney starting visit the police station about once a week and would bring the officers treats like candy and cookies. That’s when she saw a picture of Officer Kyle Zulauf. Kyle is an Army veteran, and father of three who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about a year and a half ago. His police department has been trying to raise the money he needs to pay for an additional surgery. Sidney told her mother then and there she wanted to give Officer Kyle her piggy bank money, which was about $9 in bills and half a bag of change. See the touching story of Sidney and Kyle.
