specialdanceFirst Sgt. Joseph Bierbrodt with the Illinois Army National Guard is being called a hero, but this time, not for his service. It’s for being a great dance date! Joseph stepped up to take 5-year-old Cayleigh to the father-daughter dance at Our Lady of Humility School in Beach Park, IL. The girl’s father, Sgt. Terrence Hinton, died in May of last year in a military training accident in Hawaii. The girl’s mother asked if someone from the National Guard could step in to take her to the dance, and Joseph said "It wasn't even really a choice for me. I view it as an honor to be able to do this for her." He never met Cayleigh or her dad, but he felt that taking her to the dance “had to be done.” See the special night.
