Share Your Story

One of our favorite things about Sonrise is hearing from people who’ve been touched by something they heard on the show. Whether it’s a song that made an impact on your life, or a story that someone shared, it’s great to know that it’s helped in some way, so if there is something that has touched you in a special way, we’d love to hear about it. Everybody has a story, and we’d love to hear yours.

dancingmanfoundEven with all the campaigns, awareness months and constant talk about it, bullying still exists in a big way; especially cyber-bullying. 48-year-old Sean O’Brien is a native of England who was dancing at a show when some young girls took a picture of him and posted it online with some mean comments. Sean got embarrassed and quit dancing, BUT the picture was seen by a group of ladies in Los Angeles and they immediately wanted to step in to make it up to Sean. One of those ladies was social activist Cassandra Fairbanks, who sent out a message to him, inviting him to Los Angeles for a party in his honor with over 1700 people! Sean found out, and of course answered “yes,” so they flew him out for the party of a lifetime! The party also raised a lot of money for anti-bulling charities, plus Sean got to dance with Megan Trainor on The Today Show, got to throw out the first pitch at Dodger Stadium, and he even got to meet Neil Diamond! See the whole story and the inspiring video called “Dancing Man: The Documentary.”
