Caleb was just 13 months old when he and his family were involved in a deadly crash with a semi-truck in McKinney TX. His mother and father were killed in the wreck, and Caleb suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury, or TBI. Nurses were unable to insert an IV into his tiny, collapsed veins to give him the medicine he needed to be tubed for a ventilator, but one nurse performed a procedure that was virtually unknown at the time and gave it directly into the bone marrow in his ankle. Fast forward 17 years and Caleb is living a happy full life and wanted to find the nurse who saved his life to say thank you. Sadly, he found out last month that she passed away just three years after saving his life. These days, Caleb strives to raise TBI awareness by running 5k's, making videos and “other cool stuff.” See his story.
